Scott Bond, president and CEO of the Washington State Hospital Association since 2011, will retire in January, the association announced yesterday. “WSHA has been a wonderful place for me to be for the last five years, and I’ve been honored to work with a staff that is truly, deeply committed to making health care better for everyone in Washington,” Bond said. “I look forward to continuing to support their work and to ensuring a good transition to the next generation of leadership.” The WSHA board hopes to select a new executive by the association’s annual meeting in October. “Scott has made significant contributions to the health care field through in his leadership of WSHA, as well as with Providence Health & Services,” said AHA President and CEO Rick Pollack. “In addition, he has always been a source of thoughtful advice and strong support as a partner in working with AHA. Scott will be known for having had a real passion for improving patient care that is reflective in the national recognition Washington hospitals have received for delivering safe and high quality care to the patients and communities they serve.”
