AHA announces annual membership awards
William Petasnick, president and CEO emeritus of Froedtert Health in Milwaukee, will receive the AHA’s highest honor, the Distinguished Service Award, at the association’s Annual Membership Meeting May 1-4 in Washington, D.C. In addition, Sandra Bennett Bruce, past president and CEO of Presence Health in Chicago, and Mike Rock, M.D., professor of orthopedic surgery and former chief medical officer for Mayo Clinic Hospitals/Mayo Foundation in Rochester, MN, will receive the AHA Board of Trustees Award for substantial and noteworthy contributions to the work of the association. AHA also will present its Award of Honor to the Kaiser Family Foundation for exemplary contributions to the health and well-being of people through leadership on major health policies or social initiatives. Dan Wolterman, president and CEO of Memorial Hermann Health System in Houston, will receive the AHA Justin Ford Kimball Innovators Award, recognizing an influential, innovative approach to health care financing and/or delivery; and Daniel Stultz, M.D., past president and CEO of the Texas Hospital Association, will receive the AHA’s Honorary Life Membership Award for his contributions to hospitals and health care in America.
