The American Medical Association this week named as its president-elect Barbara McAneny, M.D., an oncologist from Albuquerque, NM. McAneny, who will become president of the association next June, is co-founder and CEO of New Mexico Oncology Hematology Consultants and built and manages the New Mexico Cancer Center. She served as chair of the AMA board from 2015 to 2016 and previously served on the board of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and as president of the New Mexico Medical Society.
