In what local leaders call a “transformational moment for Trenton and the surrounding communities,” Capital Health has unveiled its new Heart and Vascular Center at the Regional Medical Center in Trenton, N.J., a major expansion spanning 12,650 square feet. The facility includes three advanced operating rooms — one for open-heart surgery, one hybrid room and one catheterization lab — alongside six pre- and post-op bays, support offices and staff accommodations. The state-of-the-art center began treating patients in late September.

“Born in Trenton, I take great personal satisfaction in knowing what this means for our neighbors and community — and their health care,” said Samuel J. Plumeri Jr., chairman, Capital Healthcare Inc. Board of Trustees.

The new Regional Medical Center now offers a full spectrum of life-saving services under one roof, including cardiac and vascular surgery, catheterization, electrophysiology and structural heart care.

The center will serve patients across Mercer and Bucks counties with cutting-edge technology and a multidisciplinary team of specialists.
