The Metropark Health & Wellness Center is the first comprehensive health and wellness facility in the nation to be located within a major transit hub, offering convenient access to care for commuters and nearby residents. Built alongside New Jersey Transit’s Metropark Station, one of the state’s busiest rail hubs, the $200 million center is designed to reduce barriers that often cause people to delay or skip medical appointments by integrating health care into daily commuting routines.
This project is part of Hackensack Meridian Health’s broader $3 billion investment to expand access to care through new ambulatory sites. “By making it easier for people to visit the doctor, we are improving the health of our communities,” said Robert C. Garrett, CEO, Hackensack Meridian Health. “We expect it will be a model emulated across the country.”
The center brings a wide range of services together under one roof, including primary care, urgent care plus, advanced imaging, medical and surgical specialties, a retail pharmacy, physical and occupational therapy, rehabilitation, phlebotomy, and more. With extended hours and walk-in accessibility, patients can schedule appointments before or after work or coordinate visits with train or bus travel, making preventive care and routine services far more accessible to the roughly 60,000 commuters who pass through Metropark each month.
