On January 24, 2024, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released voluntary health-care-specific cybersecurity performance goals (CPGs). These goals are designed to improve cybersecurity across the Healthcare and Public Health (HPH) sector and cover both essential and enhanced strategies to guide organizations of all security maturity levels. HHS is also proposing enforceable cybersecurity standards based on these CPGs.
The AHA recognizes this urgency and has partnered with Aon’s leading cybersecurity experts to host a webinar discussing the following:
- Overview of CPGs and why they are so critical to health care organizations.
- Real examples of cyberattacks and the impact on patient care, plus pitfalls of not having a strong cyber risk mitigation strategy.
- Regulatory implications of CPGs potentially shifting from voluntary to mandatory, and how hospitals and health care systems can take charge now.
- Current marketplace solutions and special resources for AHA members.
