The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services today updated its Nursing Home Compare website to reflect a revised star rating system. The new system revises the star rating methodology to include existing quality measures for antipsychotic use for short- and long-stay patients, revised calculations for staffing levels, and higher performance standards on quality measures. About two-thirds of nursing homes will see a decline in their quality measures rating and about one third in their overall star rating, CMS said.
