The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention yesterday updated an online tool that produces health profiles for all U.S. counties. The profiles show how each county compares with peer counties on certain indicators of mortality, morbidity, health care access and quality, health behaviors, social factors and the physical environment. According to the website, the goal is to improve the ability of stakeholders to assess community health status and identify disparities; promote a shared understanding of the wide range of factors that drive health; and mobilize multi-sector partnerships to improve population health.
