Employment at the nation's hospitals increased by 0.16% in March to a seasonally adjusted 4,846,200 people, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. That's 7,900 more people than in February and 77,200 more than a year ago. Without the seasonal adjustment, which removes the effect of fluctuations due to seasonal events, hospitals employed 14,800 more people than in February and 79,000 more than a year ago. The nation's overall unemployment rate was unchanged in March at 5.5%.
