The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services yesterday updated its guidance on flexibility in the Medicare Part B claims auditing and quality reporting process as the medical community gains experience using the new ICD- 10 code set. The updates include revisions to questions 1 and 9, as well as nine new questions and answers. Health care claims must include ICD-10 codes for medical diagnoses and inpatient hospital procedures beginning Oct. 1.
