The Presidential Advisory Council on Combating Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria seeks additional information from the public and stakeholders as it develops recommendations for the Health and Human Services Secretary on programs and policies to prevent and combat antibiotic-resistant bacteria and infections, according to a notice issued today. Among other questions, the council seeks information on how health care organizations can best educate and provide feedback to providers in clinics and facilities about infectious diseases diagnostic testing, optimal antibiotic prescribing and infection prevention; and examples of successful behavior change models that can be applied to prevention strategies. The request for information will be published in the May 23 Federal Register with responses accepted for 30 days.
