The number of private-sector workers with employer-sponsored health insurance increased by about 1.5 million in 2015 as overall employment increased, according to a new report by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. An estimated 47.8% of workers were enrolled in a health plan through their employer, about the same as in 2014. The report looks at trends in employer-sponsored health insurance between 2008 and 2015, based on data from the agency’s Medical Expenditure Panel Survey. Enrollment rates were lower at small employers than larger employers throughout the period.
