The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services yesterday awarded $63 million in grants to support “navigators” to help consumers enroll in coverage through the federally-facilitated Health Insurance Marketplace for a 12-month period beginning Sept. 2. The grants went to 98 organizations; several of the grantees include partnerships with hospitals and hospital systems. “We are committed to making sure consumers have all the resources they need to find the right plan when open enrollment begins on Nov. 1,” said Marketplace CEO Kevin Counihan. “We know in-person assistance is critical to connecting individuals and families with quality, affordable health coverage that best meets their needs.”
