Elaine Couture, R.N., executive vice president/chief executive for Providence Health & Services eastern Washington/Montana, will lead the AHA's Constituency Section for Metropolitan Hospitals as 2017 chair of its governing council. Kathleen Becker, president of SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, is council chair-elect and will become chairperson in 2018. The section provides representation, advocacy and educational opportunities to help the nation's suburban and urban hospitals better serve the health needs of patients and communities.
