IHI, NPSF to merge; propose 'public health framework' to advance patient safety
The Institute for Healthcare Improvement and National Patient Safety Foundation yesterday announced plans to merge May 1. IHI President and CEO Derek Feeley will lead the combined organization and NPSF President and CEO Tejal Gandhi, M.D., its combined patient safety programs. As part of the announcement, NPSF proposed a “public health framework,” endorsed by IHI, to guide and advance patient safety efforts.
