Hospitals boost Rhode Island economy by $7.6 billion

Hospitals in Rhode Island contributed more than $7.6 billion to the state's economy in 2015, according to a new report by the Hospital Association of Rhode Island. The hospitals employ more than 20,000 full-time health care professionals and spend about $2.1 billion a year on goods and services, which in turn generate additional jobs and spending for the local economy.
