Oklahoma tornado affects hospital, employees

Great Plains Regional Medical Center in Elk City, OK, was treating injuries from a tornado that swept through the community last night, destroying more than 53 homes and buildings, the Oklahoma Hospital Association reported today. The hospital was on generator power, but did not sustain damage. However, some of its employees lost their homes. OHA maintains a Hospital Employee Disaster Fund through the Communities Foundation of Oklahoma to assist in these situations. To contribute to the fund, visit www.cfok.org.
