NIH seeks to quantify undetected cases of COVID-19
The National Institutes of Health launched a study to determine how many adults in the U.S. without a confirmed COVID-19 history have antibodies to the virus. By collecting blood samples from volunteers, researchers hope to model the degree to which the virus spread undetected in the U.S. “These crucial data will help us measure the impact of our public health efforts now and guide our COVID-19 response moving forward,” said Anthony S. Fauci, M.D., director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
