HHS partners to develop COVID-19 immunotherapies; plasma donation encouraged
Collaborating with non-governmental organizations, the Department of Health and Human Services is working to develop convalescent plasma and hyperimmune globulin immunotherapies for COVID-19 patients. Both products use blood plasma from recovered patients, which contain SARS-CoV-2 antibodies that could stimulate the immune system for COVID-19 patients. Patients who have recovered from COVID-19 can learn more about donating plasma here.
