NASEM offers strategies to encourage contact tracing participation
Partnering with trusted sources and offering relevant incentives may encourage individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19 to respond to health department contact tracing efforts, according to a report released yesterday by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine’s Societal Experts Action Network.
Other strategies that may encourage participation include giving advance notice, enhancing interviewer skills and appealing to people’s motivations, the authors said.
The guidance draws on lessons learned from survey research.
