Call for participation in initiative to address maternal hemorrhage
The AHA invites hospitals and health systems to participate in the Better Maternal Outcomes Improvement Sprint, a free, six-week program focused on reducing harm from maternal hemorrhage.
Sponsored by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, the sprint centers on key change ideas, getting a program started, building goodwill, meaningful measurement and improving equity. The sprint begins Sept. 22; interested hospitals can learn more on IHI’s webpage.
The AHA is partnering with IHI as part of the association’s Better Health for Mothers and Babies Initiative.
“The AHA is focused on reducing preventable complications related to childbirth,” said Priya Bathija, AHA’s vice president of strategic initiatives. “BHMB and our IHI partnership are the foundation of our commitment to continuing improvements in maternal safety.”
