AHA outlines initial policy priorities for Biden administration
The AHA today urged President-elect Biden to implement during his first 100 days in office urgent policy recommendations to ensure America’s hospitals can continue to fight the pandemic, recover and rebuild a better health care system for the future.
“We share your important goal of quickly and aggressively ending the COVID-19 pandemic, which has tested our country and our health care system like never before,” AHA wrote. “This must be our nation’s highest priority.”
The letter also outlines priority recommendations to ensure a smooth recovery and build a better health care system in the future. In addition, it calls on the Administration to address ongoing challenges related to health equity, workforce resilience and behavioral health care.
The AHA plans to share additional recommendations in the new year to make the health care system stronger and more sustainable.
