President Biden today submitted to Congress his budget request for fiscal year 2023. The budget includes discussion of certain health care policies, such as behavioral health, workforce, maternal and child health, health research and development, and pandemic preparedness. More details about these and other proposals are included in the Department of Health and Human Services’ Budget in Brief document. The budget request is not binding, but can act as a guide for Congress and the Administration as they debate health care issues this year. AHA members will receive a Special Bulletin highlighting specific requests that impact hospitals and health systems.
