The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Dec. 27 issued an FAQ document on good faith estimates for uninsured (or self-pay) individuals under the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021. The document answers questions on how providers and facilities that either offer sliding fee discounts or do not expect to bill for items or services can comply with GFE requirements, along with information on other scenarios that they might face.
