The Blue Dot Human Trafficking Initiative at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore yesterday received a 2022 Presidential Award for Extraordinary Efforts to Combat Trafficking in Persons for its innovative and holistic approach to the care and well-being of human trafficking victims. Secretary of State Antony Blinken presented the award to Debra Holbrook, director of forensic nursing at Mercy Medical Center, during a meeting of the President’s Interagency Task Force to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons, which coordinates federal efforts to implement the National Action Plan to Combat Human Trafficking.
