CMS sets March 31 deadline for applications for Round 2 of Section 126 resident slots

Hospitals are encouraged by March 31 to apply for up to five medical education full‐time equivalent resident cap slots made available by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services through Section 126 of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021. The FTE slots from this latest round of applications will be effective July 1, 2024. When completed, the program will have made available 1,000 Graduate Medical Education FTE resident cap slots, phased in at a rate of no more than 200 slots per year.
