AHA responds to misleading NY Times op-ed
In an unconvincing effort to claim hospitals are not living up to their mission, the author of a recent op-ed in the New York Times ignores the unparalleled benefits hospitals of all types provide to their communities, writes AHA President and CEO Rick Pollack. “Cherry-picking statistics and weaving together unrelated issues to try to build a false narrative is disingenuous and undermines the hard work and societal contributions of the hospital field that provides 24/7 medical care (which is often uncompensated or undercompensated), other essential services, including emergency care, and a wide range of important programs and initiatives to advance health in communities.” READ MORE
