Agencies seek input on corporate ownership growth in health care
The Justice Department’s Antitrust Division, Federal Trade Commission and Department of Health and Human Services seek public input through May 6 on increasing private-equity and other corporate ownership in health care, which will inform their future enforcement priorities and efforts to promote competition in health care markets.
“We are interested in public input regarding the goals or objectives of these transactions, as well as their effects on participants in the health care market including patients, communities, payers, employers, providers, and other health care workers and businesses,” the Request for Information states.
The agencies today participated in an FTC virtual public workshop on the impact of private equity in health care and federal efforts to address any harmful effects.
