Providence Health & Services Alaska selects CEO

Anchorage-based Providence Health & Services Alaska named Preston Simmons CEO effective Jan. 1. Simmons has served as a leader within Providence since 2007 in various roles, including CEO of Providence’s Northwest Washington Region in Everett and chief operating and administrative officer of its Western Washington Region in Seattle.

Saline Health System selects CEO

Benton, Ark.-based Saline Health System named Michael Stewart CEO effective Nov. 30. Stewart most recently served as CEO of Navarro Regional Hospital in Corsicana, Texas, since 2006. 

Sparrow Health System taps CEO

Lansing, Mich.-based Sparrow Health System named Emory Wayne Tibbs, Jr., president and CEO effective January 2019. Tibbs comes to Sparrow from Centra Health in Lynchburg, Va., where he served as CEO for five years. He was previously the health system's chief operating officer.

Columbia University Irving Medical Center selects COO

New York City-based Columbia University Irving Medical Center named Donna Lynne senior vice president and chief operating officer effective Jan. 15. Lynne also will serve as CEO of ColumbiaDoctors, the faculty medical practice of Columbia University Medical Center in New York City. She currently serves as Lieutenant Governor and chief operating officer for the State of Colorado.
