AHA submits comments on discussion draft of PREVENT Pandemics Act

The AHA Friday submitted comments on a discussion draft of bipartisan legislation to strengthen the nation’s public health and medical preparedness and response systems in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. In its letter on the Prepare for and Respond to Existing Viruses, Emerging New Threats, and Pandemics Act (PREVENT Pandemics Act), AHA discussed the need for more funding for the Hospital Preparedness Program, as well as commented on provisions of the draft that the association specifically supports and recommendations to further enhance the proposed legislation.
