CMS: Medicare Advantage Data Available for Research

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services is making Medicare Advantage data available to researchers, beginning with data on services provided to beneficiaries in calendar year 2015, the agency announced yesterday. CMS said it also plans to release data from Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program next year. “Data has the potential to help produce better, more targeted treatments for patients, improving their quality of life while at the same time reducing costs,” said CMS Administrator Seema Verma.
