Ensuring that health care workers have the personal protective equipment needed to protect themselves so they can treat COVID-19 patients is the top priority, AHA President and CEO Rick Pollack said today on Fox and Friends. “It is so important that our front-line health care heroes – the doctors, the nurses and other health care workers – have this type of equipment because if they get sick and they can’t be at work, then the whole system is going to collapse,” he said. Pollack also emphasized that hospitals and health systems need the resources to set up alternative sites of care in order to preserve hospital capacity for those that need acute care. View the full segment from today’s program. Pollack also appeared on CNN this afternoon, and reiterated the importance of getting PPE to health care workers and discussed the stimulus legislation being considered by Congress
