Board updates rules for Medicare provider appeal proceedings
The Provider Reimbursement Review Board, which hears Medicare Part A provider appeals, recently updated its rules for appeal proceedings. The new rules were issued without notice and were effective immediately. Among other changes, the updated rules require appellants to file their full preliminary position paper with the board at the outset of an appeal, rather than later in the process. The board also has implemented a new electronic filing tool.
