With the ever quickening pace of events, the House of Delegates with its two meetings a year needed to be supplemented. Delegates began to meet four (later three) times a year in nine regional boards with state association executives as ex officio members. The more frequent and smaller meetings allowed greater discussion and more timely advice to the Board of Trustees and to AHA staff.
