Ameriplan proposed a restructuring of delivery and financing "to make health care more accessible, more comprehensive, more responsive, and more relevant to the needs of the community." Its centerpiece was the health care corporation, an organization charged with providing a complete range of care for people in its geographic area. The plan was later introduced in Congress as H.R.1 by then House Ways and Means Chairman Al Ullman (D-OR).
