Survey: Coverage gains being maintained

More adults have stable health insurance coverage as a result of the coverage expansion provided by the Affordable Care Act, the Urban Institute’s Health Reform Monitoring Survey reported today. The share of non-elderly adults reporting stable health coverage throughout the previous year increased from 69.6% in September 2014 to 73.9% in September 2015, the survey said. Another 7% of adults in September 2015 said they were insured in all 12 months, but changed their type of coverage or health plan. “Thus, over 80% of the adults were insured all of the previous year in September 2015,” said the survey, which is supported by the Ford Foundation and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. The survey is designed to provide timely information on how the ACA is affecting health care coverage.
