AHA releases PSA urging the public not to put off needed care

The AHA today released a public service announcement urging the American public not to delay getting the preventive, scheduled and emergency services they need, and noting that hospitals and health systems are always there, ready to care. The PSA, available in English and Spanish, can be adapted by AHA members with their organization’s logo for their use.

The PSA is part of the AHA’s continuing efforts to reassure the public that hospitals and health systems have enhanced safety measures in place, and builds upon AHA’s COVID-19 Pathways to Recovery resource for health care leaders released in May. Adding to the chorus of this important message is the Coalition to Protect America’s Health Care, which today released a short video: “Don’t delay. Seek care right away.”

In addition to the PSA, related social media, talking points and other materials for this effort are available, and hospitals and health systems are encouraged to customize and use these resources in their communities.
