Health care adds 58,300 jobs in October
Job growth continued in October, but at a slower pace than this summer, according to data released today by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The health care field added 58,300 jobs, increasing to a seasonally adjusted 15.9 million.
Hospitals added 16,200 jobs, but employment remains lower than before the pandemic.
Physicians, dentists and other office-based providers also added jobs in October, while nursing and residential care facilities shed more than 8,000 jobs.
