HHS announces funding to expand community behavioral health clinics
Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics may apply for up to $1 million each to expand access to mental health and substance use disorder services, and other nonprofit behavioral health organizations may apply for $1 million each to establish new CCBHCs, the Department of Health and Human Services announced yesterday. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Agency expects to award 156 grants to existing clinics and 156 grants for new clinics.
CCBHCs must provide 24/7 access to crisis services and routine outpatient care within 10 business days of initial contact. They also must serve anyone who requests care for mental health or substance use, regardless of their ability to pay, place of residence or age.
