Bronson Methodist Hospital has become the first facility in southwest Michigan to offer the VARIPULSE™ Pulsed Field Ablation Platform for treating atrial fibrillation (AFib). The technology combines advanced cardiac mapping with targeted electrical pulses to more precisely address the sources of arrhythmia while helping protect surrounding healthy tissue.
It is designed to improve both the safety and efficiency of AFib procedures, offering cardiologists clearer real-time imaging and quicker treatment capabilities. “Atrial fibrillation is the most common type of heart arrhythmia in adults,” said Thomas Franzon, M.D., electrophysiologist at Bronson Methodist Hospital. “By bringing VARIPULSE™ technology to Bronson, we can deliver advanced rhythm management locally to patients whose arrhythmias have not responded to medical therapy.”
