AHA shares FY 2017 funding recommendations with appropriations leaders

As House and Senate appropriators begin to consider fiscal year 2017 funding for health care programs, AHA today urged them to give “strong and favorable” funding consideration to health care programs shown to improve access to quality health care. Specifically, AHA Executive Vice President Tom Nickels urged appropriations leaders to prioritize funding for the Children’s Hospitals Graduate Medical Education program; Health Resources and Services Administration programs to address workforce challenges; Rural Health Programs; the 340B Drug Pricing Program; Hospital Preparedness Program; Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality; Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; and certain other public health and health care programs.
