AHA participates in Montana Rural Health Summit

The AHA participated yesterday in a Rural Health Summit hosted by the Montana Hospital Association and Sen. Jon Tester (D-MT) that brought together stakeholders, advocacy organizations, community members and senior administration officials to address critical rural health care challenges, such as improving access to telemedicine and behavioral health care and reducing regulatory burden and workforce shortages. Participants included Jim Macrae, Health Resources and Services Administration acting administrator; John Hammarlund, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services regional administrator and co-chair of the agency’s new Rural Health Council; and senior staff from the U.S. Senate Finance Committee. “Montana hospitals are the cornerstones of health in their communities, and this Summit will strengthen their ability to remain local and continue providing their neighbors high-quality and efficient care,” said MHA President and CEO Dick Brown.
