The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) on Thursday, July 31, and Monday, Aug. 4, issued final rules for three post-acute care settings for fiscal year (FY) 2015.
CMS’s proposal to change the thresholds that apply to LTCH interrupted stays is unwarranted and should not be implemented.

AHA Regulatory Advisory: Long-Term Care Hospital PPS: Final Rule for FY 2014
Today's rule finalizes many of CMS's proposals. While we continue to believe the coding cuts imposed by the American Taxpayer Relief Act are unwarranted, we appreciate CMS's policy of gradually phasing in the reduction beginning in FY 2014.
In the May 10 Federal Register, CMS published its fiscal year 2014 proposed rule for the inpatient and long-term care hospital prospective payment systems.
