Variation in Health Care: More than Just Geography

Variation exists at all levels of the health care system. While current attention has focused on geographic variation in spending, hospital leaders have identified variation within their own hospitals and systems. In this annual meeting executive briefing, the leaders of three health care systems discussed how they are tackling the challenges associated with reducing variation in care practices within their own hospitals, health care systems and communities to improve the value of the health care they deliver.
