The committees of the Board of Trustees provide input and guidance to inform the AHA board. They are:

• Committee on Nominations
• Committee on Research
• Committee of Commissioners to the Joint Commission
• Committee on Clinical Leadership
• Committee on Governance
• Committee on Performance Improvement
• Committee on Volunteers

The work of the Board is also informed by the Regional Policy Boards and Constituency Section Councils.
