Improving behavioral health is one of the top priorities for hospitals and the communities they serve.  A new guide from the AHA’s Hospitals in Pursuit of Excellence outlines how hospitals and health systems can address the challenges of integrating physical health with behavioral health, enhance collaboration among community partners and sustain resources for needed services.  Cases studies in the guide provide concrete steps and results so hospitals and health systems can adapt the ideas to their needs of their patients and communities.

The guide is part of AHA’s efforts to help hospitals apply best practices to treat all of the needs of their patients – physical and behavioral.  For more information, check out AHA’s behavioral health resources at aha.org
