Pollack, health leaders discuss future of ACA at Miami forum
“Coverage and how we maintain that coverage is absolutely critical,” said AHA President and CEO Rick Pollack during a panel discussion today on the future of the Affordable Care Act in the new political environment. In addition, Pollack said he believes the delivery system reforms contained in the law will continue, noting that many were already under way before the law’s passage. The panel, part of the University of Miami School of Business Administration’s conference on “The Business of Health Care Post Election,” also discussed potential reforms to Medicare and Medicaid. Also on the panel were Marilyn Tavenner, president and CEO of America’s Health Insurance Plans; American Medical Association CEO Jim Madara, M.D.; Healthcare Financial Management Association President and CEO Joe Fifer; and Halee Fischer-Wright, M.D., president and CEO of the Medical Group Management Association.
