Hospitals Can Apply for FY 2019 EHR Hardship Exception
Inpatient prospective payment system hospitals and critical access hospitals that did not achieve meaningful use of electronic health records under the Medicare EHR Incentive Program for 2017 can now apply for a hardship exception to avoid a payment adjustment in FY 2019. IPPS hospitals must request the hardship exception by July 1 and CAHs by Nov. 30.
