HHS competition seeks best practices in maternal health
The Department of Health and Human Services yesterday announced a pair of innovation challenges aimed at improving maternal and infant health.
The HHS Hypertension Innovator Award Competition addresses care for women with high blood who are pregnant and/or postpartum; the HHS Reducing Disparities in Breastfeeding Innovation Challenge targets approaches to increase breastfeeding initiation and continuation rates and decrease disparities among breastfeeding mothers. Both challenges are divided into three phases and seek to identify and reward replicable, proven strategies that target gaps and disparities in maternal health outcomes. The deadline for submissions is Nov.16.
