Health care organizations can apply through Aug. 30 for a portion of $29.6 million in American Rescue Plan Act funding to support or expand evidence-informed programs or protocols to promote an organizational culture of wellness, resilience and mental health among their employees, the Health Resources and Services Administration announced today.

In addition, health professions schools, academic health centers, state or local governments, tribal organizations and nonprofit organizations can apply through Aug. 30 for a portion of $68 million from ARPA to plan, develop, operate or participate in training activities to reduce burnout and promote mental health and resiliency among health care students, residents and other professionals in rural and underserved communities. HRSA also will award $6 million for one organization to provide tailored training and technical assistance to the grant recipients.

“These programs will help to combat occupational stress and depression among our health care workers as they continue their heroic work to defeat the pandemic,” said Acting HRSA Administrator Diana Espinosa.
